The name of the place was taken from a couple who hid in this area so that their parents could not see them as they had always been against their affection. According to the story, when lobo’s landscape was still covered by tropical forest and the sea level from Kastilyong Bato to San Juan coastline was still as high as big hanging rocks, that is when the said couple crossed by using wooden boat to hide between two boulders of rocks where no one could see them.  From then on whenever they go downtown and randomly asked where they live, they always say “sa isang sulok ng baybaying dagat ng Lobo” or at the corner of a coastal area in Lobo.

People also believed that they might be the origin of the people living here today.
