Barangay San Nicolas is named after Mr. Nicolas Buisan, a man who owned vast tracts of land in ancient times.
It is formerly a sitio under the governance of Barangay Apar known for its open hills and terrains. Due to growing population of its residents over the past years, it was later fledged as one of the registered barangays of Lobo.
Barangay San Nicolas has a total land area of 868,3700 hectares and consists of six Sitios, these are Sitio Putting Bato, Malvar, Bagong Pook, Catapang, Sampaguita and Sitio Baluarte.
Farming, forestry, and trade are the main occupations of its inhabitants.
