ABOUT THE BARANGAY

It is said that in ancient times these areas were vast swamps, grasslands and forests inhabited by wild animals such as boars, snakes, and other wildlings. Allegedly, when its ancient inhabitants’ repatriates to the town and randomly asked where they lived, they have nothing to answer but “sa libis ng Bundok na hinawan” as the place is unknown that time and less explored.

Over the centuries, the word Hinawanan has become a popular word of mouth which later translated into PINAGHAWANAN. Just like Barangay Malapad na Parang, Brgy. Pinaghawanan was also part of Barangay Calumpit until it became independent with promising growth in agricultural sector.

It consists of seven sitios, these are: Sitio Balete, Pulo, Kalupihan, Centro, Bagoong Pook and Sitio Silangan 1 & 2. It has a total land area of 261,1559 hectares and is 14 kilometers away from the town proper.
