Barangay Calumpit is derived from a tree that is abundant in this area. Barangay Calumpit is a mountainous region located in the East of Lobo. It is bounded in between by four neighboring barangays, these are: Brgy. Pinaghawanan to the east, Brgy. Malapad na Parang to the west, Brgy. Bignay to the south and Brgy. Piña which is already part of the Municipality of Taysan separated by water shed that interconnects to Lobo River.
It has a total land area of 406.1337 hectares and is 12.5 kilometers away from the town proper. It is divided into five sitios: Sitio Silyaran, Centro, Bagong Pook, Malipa and Mague.
Farming and animal husbandry are the main occupations of the people in this mountain side community.
