According to legend, the Northern mountains of Lobo, is the home of large birds called “Calo”. The locals believe that the said bird can only be seen in this mountain ranges where its chirping sounds serves as their morning crisp as it is fun to listen and somehow add charm to the place. The resident said that the Calo bird has become their clock that when it chirps, it seems to signal orchestrated time in the morning, noon, and night.
Since this place did not have a name in the past, the Calo bird became their trademark, until it was uplifted by the law and soon called Barangay Calo.
This barangay has an area of 573,9054 hectares and is divided into four sitios; Sitio Bagong Pook, Pag-asa, Maligaya at Matagumpay. It is 6 kilometers away from the town proper where agricultural crop harvesting, and farming are their main source of livelihood.
