ABOUT THE BARANGAY

As a land rich in forest canopy and exotic tree species, most of Lobo’s barangay are tied up to the ecological advancement that surrounds them and maximize nature’s gift of commodities and shelters. One of this upland communities is Brgy. Bignay. This greeny landscape is known for a unique tree with small fruits and barks called Bignay. It is said to be the beloved habitat of exotic birds, as the tree bloom with delicious fruits in specific season. This is where the barangay took its name to give back to the nature’s beauty that behold their ranges and cliffs.

Barangay Bignay is a mountainous area with many wild animals that were once frequented by hunting enthusiasts. It consists of seven (7) sitios such as Sitio Bulsukin, Duhatan, Tulay na Busog, Pungkol, Ibaba, Centro and Ilaya with a total land area of 533.6722 hectare and is 6.051 kilometers away from town proper.

Today, Farming and animal husbandry are the main livelihoods of the locals.
